An armoire is a versatile stand-alone piece of furniture that acts as both a decor and a storage unit. It is
fitted with doors and has several levels of shelves and drawers. Armoires can be multi-functional with adjustable
levers. A TV armoire may be fitted with a pull-out shelf for better viewing.
So why do people use a TV armoire? Why not just put the TV on top of a flat surface? Although most people watch
a lot of TV, the equipment is still considered an eyesore. It usually deviates from the over-all harmony of an
entire room’s decor. Hence, there is a need for a TV armoire. A well-chosen one unifies with the rest of the
furniture in the room.
Coffee-Finish Entertainment Armoire
TV armoires usually come in traditional, old world charm of hard wood, carvings and antique finish. There are
also TV armoires in country, mission, trendy or contemporary styles. When choosing which kind to get, take into
consideration the room where you intend to place it in and the person who will be using it. Trendy TV armoires are
the least recommended since it losses its appeal after several years. Traditional bulky TV armoires are beautiful
in traditionally design homes, but may not be suitable in a young person’s room or in a small house. Country style
TV armoires, on the other hand, are universally appealing but may also not fit in a modern home. It’s a matter of
matching it with the rest of the space.
Country Style Solid Pine Wood TV
Armoire
Aside from being a hidden compartment, A TV armoire serves as an organizational storage for all entertainment
equipment. It also protects the equipment from dust.
But with the changing design of television, the deeply designed TV armoire is fast becoming obsolete. With TV
becoming wider and thinner, TV armoire manufacturers are adapting by redesigning their products. But even that may
not be a match to wall-mounted TV screens that have a sleek, picture frame appeal that are becoming less of an
eyesore. In fact, people now consider it a prominent attraction. Because of this, more and more people are choosing
TV brackets over TV armoires.
But all is not lost for the TV armoire, especially for those that were expensively bought. Because of the
multi-functional nature of armoires, there is now an increasing demand for converting old TV armoires back into its
traditional storage functions for wardrobe, kitchen items or other things. Another ingenious idea is converting the
TV armoire into an office area. By refitting it with a slide-out panel to act as a desk and some other minute
changes, the armoire can now be a compact working space, more like the traditional secretary table but with more
storage compartments.
